Daily Menu Plan: 12-1-09 (a.k.a. back in the saddle)
This weekend was…well, it was. I did pretty well on Thanksgiving day. The rest of the weekend did not go as well. It wasn’t really any splurges, just more all-day noshing without any real meals or planning. It’s amazing how PTS add up when you do that.
But this is a new week. I had a good day yesterday, and even made a plan for the rest of the week. I’m excited about today’s menu because it includes a new recipe I’m trying. I also like that it includes several things I love like grilled cheese, cornbread, and chocolate! It makes the day feel like a splurge even though I’m well within my PTS allowance.
B: Light wheat english muffin with Canadian bacon, reduced fat cheese, and 1 tsp evoo (4)
S: 1 cup thawed frozen blueberries (1) mixed with 6 oz Chobani vanilla yogurt (2)
L: 1 can Wolfgang Puck black bean soup (4) with 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich (3)*
S: 1/2 red grapefruit with Splenda (1) and 1 light hot cocoa (1)
D: 1 serving of Powder Keg Chili from the WW Comfort Classics cookbook (4) with 1 piece of cornbread (2), and a large salad w/ 1 tsp evoo and balsamic vinegar (1). 1 Vitabrownie for dessert (1)
Total PTS: 24
GHGs: Fruits & Veggies = 5, Oils = 2, Dairy = 2, Protein = 2, whole grains = 5
Exercise: Either 45 min spinning (5) or (if I can’t get into the class) 55 min BodyCombat class (6)**.
*I took one piece of Vermont Bread Company soft whole wheat and made a grilled cheese with 2 pieces of RF cheese, for a total of 3 PTS. Next time I think I can use only 1 piece of cheese and it will still be good.
** BodyCombat is like kickboxing, but with some martial arts thrown in for fun. It’s a good workout.
